Past Presentations
In October of 2021, Coastal Queers founders John and Sully spoke at the Community Based Research Centre’s annual summit, entitled “Disrupt and reconstruct”. This 3 day virtual event focused on who is left out of care when we return to “normal” after the covid 19 pandemic, and how disparities in access to health care have a larger impact on the queer community.
Coastal Queers founders Sully and John gave a delegation to the District of Tofino in January of 2021. In this delegation, they discussed the lack of support that the queer community has historically received from a municipal standpoint within Tofino & outlined where Coastal Queers goals aligned with the District of Tofino’s Strategic Plan Priorities for 2021-2023.
